Swartruggens

NEW LIFE: Swartruggens 1966 – 1968

I arrived at Swartruggens an uncut stone and ended up blossoming in to the head girl of Rodeon High in Swartruggens. Then went on to pass matric with a first class and achieve a teacher’s diploma. Only by the grace of God is that possible.

Please don’t tell me about positive thinking or that Jesus is good for some people as it serves as a crutch or provides them with the positive thinking that brings out the power that lies within all of us. You tell me where is the power of your positive thinking when you lie crushed in the metal hand of a car accident? When your spirit is ready to leave your body, may you remember to call on the powerful name of Jesus. Where is the power of positive thinking when you lie in a coma in the grip of meningitis that munches away at your brain? I saw this with my own eyes one month ago. My beloved sister Joan’s doctors gave instructions to phone us to come say good bye to her. The scans showed such severe brain damage that if she lived she would be a vegetable. Now let me tell you something; it is no positive thinking that made the doctor hear “Good morning, Doctor Le Roux”. It was my sister coming out of her coma and even recognizing her doctor. This is God Almighty at work! This is prayers! This is to glorify God! She gave her first steps and can even send me an SMS. She still is in hospital today but a walking living miracle. But the true miracle was before she went in to the coma. When she phoned and cried with a longing for God. She asked for forgiveness of her sins and dedicated her life to God. So you see, even if her body had died, the true miracle was her salvation and God was glorified! There is much more to this, but that is Joanie’s testimony.
